HISTORY
1989 : The first Institutional ERASMUS Contract with the European Commission is obtained by Miss Riffault, principal of La Providence.
1993 : Jean-Marie Charretier, principal of La Providence, joins SPACE, the Network of European Institutions of Higher Education that is acknowledged by the Belgian law and created by 5 institutions from 5 different European countries in 1989.
1996 : Miss Lepennec, principal of La Providence, appoints Sylvie Bonichon to be the International Coordinator in substitution for Claudine Labarbe.
1997 : First COMENIUS partnership acknowledged by the European Commission for the pupils of the Lycée Professionel.
1999 : Appointment of Sylvie Bonichon as representative of France within SPACE.
2002 : Arrival of the first COMENIUS language assistant from Hungary.
Sylvie Bonichon is elected as Vice-president of the SPACE network in The Hague (NL). This network has 40 members from 15 countries.
2003 : The ERASMUS University Charter is given to La Providence by the European Commission. Guy-Michel Mahieu is principal. This charter represents a real European acknowledgement of the higher education (post-baccalauréat) in our institution.
Sylvie Bonichon is elected as President of SPACE in Antwerp(Belgium) for a three-year mandate.
2004 : Sylvie Bonichon becomes a member of the work group EURASHE ( European Association for Higher Education), which deals with the professional higher educations and their integration in the European higher education.
La Providence is involved in a LEONARDO project for the first time.
2005 : Creation of AFRESP (Association Française pour l’Enseignement Supérieur Professionnalisé) in partnership with the Billières College of Toulouse.
Participation of La Providence in a MINERVA project.
2006 : On 10 February, a tutorial seminar takes place in the class rooms of La Providence, uniting European deciders and experts on education. Students of BTS, AD and CI participate in the organization of this event.
Sylvie Bonichon ends her mandate as President of the SPACE network in Vilnius, Lithuania in March.
April: La Providence is represented at a meeting of the Cégeps Internationals in Montreal, Quebec for the first time.
October: opening of the post-BTS year, Business Management in Europe, in partnership with ESB Toulouse and within the AFRESP network.
La Providence is represented within RENASUP (Réseau National d’Enseignement Supérieur Professionnel Privé) for her international experience.
November: reception of African representatives in connection with a training session organized by UNESCO.
2007 : First exchange project for the BTS-students with the Nirmala Niketan College of Bombay, India.
Signature of a partnership with TC3 College and Disney World Orlando, USA, for sandwich courses for BTS-students of La Providence. Three students are leaving for Florida in August.
Signature of a partnership with
Cégep Montmorrency, Quebec , Canada, for studies and student internships.
Agreement with the University of Coventry, UK, for a continuation of studies
after the BTS.
The Erasmus University Charter is given to La Providence for a period of 6 years. (2007-2013)
